{Randomness} My Top 10 Most Overrated Songs of 2012

So this is another {Randomness} post. xD I actually only have one other post like this, and that is my post about Christina Grimmie, which is a very underrated YouTube singer that you all really need to check out because she's amazing. <3

Also, should I do more of these {Randomness} type of posts, that don't necessarily have anything to do with books? What do you guys think?

Anyways, I decided to just make this post on, in my opinion, the top 10 most overrated songs of 2012 so far. By overrated, I mean they are played absolutely everywhere and it's like you can't even get away from them. Some of these songs are actually released in 2011, but I put them here because they are still overplayed even to this day.

So here is my top 10:

#10: Without You by David Guetta featuring Usher
#9: Set Fire to the Rain by Adele
#8: Turn Up the Music by Chris Brown
#7: Part of Me by Katy Perry
#6: Glad You Came by The Wanted

Now for the top 5, I'm gonna give some commentary. xD

#5: Starships by Nicki Minaj

Alright, I'll admit that I do like Nicki Minaj. ._. There, I said it. She's my guilty pleasure, and I own both her old album and new album. She's actually the only rapper I listen to because the way she raps is different compared to most other rappers out there, and I do admit that I even memorized a lot of the raps she did. xD

But I honestly didn't like this song at all. I think it's a very typical dance song that's a lot like the others out there, and the lyrics just don't make sense at all. e_e What the hell do Starships have to do with anything in the song? If you read the lyrics, I think it's really just about getting high. The whole "Starships were meant to fly" thing was unnecessary. And it doesn't go.

#4: Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye featuring Kimbra

This song exploded. Literally, I hear it everywhere. It's not a bad song, really, but to be honest, I never really liked it. What I do love, though, is Christina Grimmie's cover of it. <3

I never even heard of the song until I heard her cover, to be honest. And when I heard the song, I was like...damn. It can't even compare to Christina's version. So yeah, every time that song comes to mind, all I ever sing is the Grimmie version. Go Team Grimmie, woohoo!

Excuse my fangirling. x3 Moving on~

#3: Boyfriend by Justin Bieber

Even from the title of the song, you can tell it's by the Biebs. I will give you this, though: I didn't expect his voice to become deeper. Like, ever. He sounds more like an actual male now. And looks it, too, now that he's ditched that ridiculous hair from back when he started.

The song lyric-wise, is a mess to me. I honestly couldn't even listen to the whole song, because the lyrics on the rap part at the beginning were ridiculous. And when he goes all "swag swag swag", I literally exited the page as fast as I could, because I cannot STAND that word. It's so unattractive. I blame him that people use it so often.

#2: Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen

This song...

It's one of those songs that you despise so much but it like, barges into your head and stays there, you know? And it stays there for so long that it gets stuck. For days, even. I sometimes find myself randomly singing it and I have to slap myself every time. Don't you hate it when you start to sing a song that you despise? Dx

The only nice thing I'll say about this song is, the ending of the video, when the hot guy turns out to be gay, was pretty funny, and I didn't expect that to happen, so I give her props for coming up with that, because if that wasn't put in, the video would probably be your average boring music video. But that's pretty much the only compliment I'll give about this song lol.

I also recently discovered that Carly Rae Jepsen is 26 years old. O_O I was like...

I thought she was like...10 years younger than that.

#1: What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction

Big surprise that this is number 1, huh? xD

2012 is the year where this group exploded. I thought Beliebers were insane, but Directioners are like a whole-nother level of insane.

This song is, as Stephanie Sinclair (<3) put it, the ultimate Mary Sue anthem. And she's right. I mean, the lyrics are sweet I guess, and it's not that these guys aren't talented, it's just . . . it seems people care more about their looks. Sure, their music is what makes them famous, but I think Directioners are Directioners because all the guys in the group are hot.

And, as are Beliebers, Directioners tend to think that if one of the members are dating somebody, they'll hunt whoever she is down and send her death threats and all that crap.

Like . . . why? Why would you be butthurt over it? I don't get it. It's not like you have a chance with any of those guys. They're famous. If they're dating someone, and they're happy, then be happy for them. That's what a real fan should do.

But anyways, on the song, I can't really say much bad things about it because it really isn't that bad. But there's a reason I put this as #1, because out of all the songs on this list, this is the one that I really can't escape. It's playing in every mall I go to, on the radio over and over, just basically everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if it started blasting from thin air.

~*~

So that was my list of top 10 songs that I'm basically tired of hearing everywhere I go. :3 I made this purely out of boredom, and I also wanna know if you guys wanna see more {Randomness} type of posts that aren't really related to books.

Let me know if there are songs I missed that you think I should've added on the list as well. :D
